When you finalize a financing, your identity will be verified. This is mandated by law. Often, due to the distance from the bank, presenting the necessary documents cannot be done in person. Here, Deutsche Post takes over the legitimacy check as part of the PostIdent procedure.

In most cases, you go to the post office with your valid ID card or passport and complete the PostIdent in a minute.
